Chickens and rabbits are popular pets and while they may not look, sound, or act particularly similarly, the two species can happily live together. They can share space in a backyard homestead, a garden, or a ranch, without you having to worry whether one or the other group of animals is suffering as a result.
Can I have goats and chickens live together?
It’s perfectly fine to let chickens and goats free range together, but they do need a place of their own when not turned out. You’ll need to give the chickens a place to live free of the goats where they can be warm and protected from predators.

Yes, most ducks can live happily with Chickens. Muscovy ducks, in particular, are a great choice as they will happily coexist with chickens and bring a lot of their own benefits to the yard. If you can introduce ducklings and chicks together when they’re young you have the highest chance of success.
You can also keep both ducks and chickens in the same coop. As long as it has enough space to comfortably house the number of birds you have, they’ll get on as great as roommates. The main difference is their sleeping habits. Chickens like to roost up high on a roosting bar. While ducks prefer to nest on the ground level.
Our answer is that ducklings consume a large amount of feed, and that much medication can make them sick. So, in short, you can raise chickens and ducks together, but you can’t raise baby chicks and ducklings together in the same brooder.
One source argued that most ducks of any breed will do fine with calmer chickens as long as the duck is allowed to be itself. However, there are breeds of ducks that are generally much more high-strung than others, and if you’re looking to mix chickens and ducks it’s best to choose breeds that are generally not high-strung.
Are Bunnies considered livestock?
Since rabbits are still considered “livestock” in our state, it does not have the same requirement that they be spayed/neutered before being adopted out of a Humane Society or shelter, like dogs or cats do. This is ludicrous. Thankfully our local chapter of the House Rabbit Society insures that every rabbit being adopted at every shelter is done.
